Rep. Dave Hickernell will operate an informational booth at the 2010 Elizabethtown Fair, which opens Monday, Aug. 23, and runs through Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds, located off the 900 block of East High Street.
“The Elizabethtown Fair is a wonderful community tradition, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it again this year,” Hickernell said. “At my booth, we will have a variety of free state publications available as well as information on the services my district offices provide to residents of the 98th District.”
The Elizabethtown Fair features local agriculture and much more. In addition to the livestock and agricultural exhibits and competitions, the fair offers a variety of musical entertainment, a wide variety of food, a children’s petting zoo, and the ever-popular carnival rides.
“Our area has a unique and rich agricultural heritage,” added Hickernell, who serves on the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. “The Elizabethtown Fair is a celebration of that heritage. I encourage everyone to come out and see all of the events and exhibits.”
