Rep. Dave Hickernell will operate an informational booth at the 2008 Elizabethtown Fair, which opens Monday, Aug. 18 and runs through Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds, located off the 900 block of East High Street.
“This is a wonderful community tradition, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it once again,” Hickernell said. “At my booth, we will have a variety of free state publications available as well as information on the services my district offices provide to residents of the 98th District.”
The Elizabethtown Fair showcases local agriculture and much more. In addition to the livestock and agricultural exhibits and competitions, the fair offers a variety of musical entertainment, plenty of delicious food, a children’s petting zoo, and the ever-popular carnival rides.
“Elizabethtown and the surrounding area have a unique and rich agricultural heritage,” added Hickernell, who serves on the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. “The fair is a celebration of that heritage. I encourage everyone to come out and see all of the events and exhibits.”
